Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to buy from us. Here is where we stand and how to tell us when we fall short.
Our commitment
FrostPepper Labs Inc. is working to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA across frostpepperlabs.com. As an Ontario business we are also subject to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation, and we design to meet those obligations.
What we have built in
- Keyboard access. Every interactive control — navigation, the reveal slider, size selection, the On Ice save button, drawers and modals — can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. Focus is visible, and focus is trapped inside open drawers and dialogs and returned to where it came from when they close.
- Screen readers. Landmarks, headings and labels are marked up semantically. Status changes — a piece saved to On Ice, an item added to cart, a form error — are announced politely rather than silently.
- Reduced motion. If your device asks for reduced motion, we honour it: the logo intro does not run, scroll animations are disabled, and the marquee stops. Nothing that conveys information relies on motion.
- Contrast. Body text and interface controls are designed to meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio; large text and non-text controls meet 3:1.
- Text sizing. The site reflows without loss of content or function at 200% zoom, and on narrow screens.
- Images. Product and editorial images carry descriptive alternative text. Purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
- Touch targets. Interactive controls are at least 44×44 pixels.
- Forms. Every field has a visible or programmatically associated label, correct input types, and errors described in text rather than by colour alone.
Known limitations
We would rather tell you than let you discover it:
- Some third-party components — payment widgets, embedded social content — are outside our control and may not fully meet AA. We choose vendors partly on accessibility and press them when they fall short.
- Video content does not yet carry captions throughout. We are adding them.
- Some older product imagery has thinner alternative text than we would like. We are rewriting it.
If something does not work for you
Email [SUPPORT EMAIL] with the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you were using. We aim to reply within 2 business days and to fix confirmed barriers within 30 days where we reasonably can.
If a barrier stops you completing a purchase, tell us and we will take your order directly by email or phone and apply the same pricing, shipping and returns terms.
Accessible formats
On request we will provide any information on this site — including our policies — in an accessible format or with communication support, at no additional cost, in a way that takes your accessibility needs into account. Email us and tell us what format works for you.
Feedback
We treat accessibility feedback as a bug report, not a complaint. It goes to the same queue as anything else that stops a customer buying. Email [SUPPORT EMAIL].
